hi everyone new to landyzone just wanting to further my knowledge of landrovers and ask questions for people to help me out with

Just driven up from Port Elizabeth, South Africa to Nairobi Kenya in my 1999 TD5 Defender :) terrific trip! I wanted to upgrade my headlights by fitting HID H4 bulb kits, the type with the hi/lo in one bulb system. These came complete with a harness, relays, ballasts etc. on fitting I had a unique problem. When you switch on the lights, they work perfectly, but the alarm flashers also come on and wont switch off until you switch off the ignition switch. Once you start the vehicle again all works perfect, until you switch on the headlights and as soon as you do, on come the alarm flashers only. Not the normal hazards, or indicators, as i have removed all fuses related and relays. Only the four flashers linked to the alarm, immobilizer unit, the hooters dont come on but do work when i push the hooter button. Stumped!!?? anyone help! It's driving me mad, even thought that the "loading" of the ballasts was developing a frequency to activate the alarm / immobilizer system? The vehicle runs like a bomb, but the alarm flashers wont switch off.

:) Hi Dean td5 this one is my third Landy. All Defenders, all 110's. My first was a CSW TDi 300 110, my second was a TDi 300 pickup, the current one is a TD5 CSW 110.I am presently on contract work in Kenya and missed my Landy so much, I flew back to SA to fetch it and drove back, just under 7000 kms. My Landy is fully kitted out for travel through Africa and East Africa is created for Land Rovers.
Has anyone got any answers with regard to my HID light problem, please?
