Hi Bioman

I have thought about doing this conversion have done it on our 1275 classic mini and it makes a huge difference to power i would think you should get on from E**y we did for the mini

let us know how much difference it makes to freelander

Regards

Gordon:)

 I hear that folks have been known to knock out the 'cat' internals (substrate block) thereby maintaining the external appearance of the 'cat' for MOT purposes whilst improving gas flow to the benefit of turbo response. Note:This only applies to diesel variants.

The emissions from a diesel are not tested at MOT - smoke is - as far as i am aware the cat will reduce the gases in the exhaust but if its not tested....

Reducing any back pressure on the turbo is a good thing - diesel engines don't need to have the back pressure as petrol ones do.

Hi,Thinking of this mod myself but i cant seem to find a decat pipe avail, does anyone have any contact info on where i could purchase one(even flee bay has come up blank),thanks bobbyb

Hi Bobby

I only paid £ 20 for mini pipe but there again everything seems to be half price compared to everything else so could be about right

Gordon:)

Went the cheap way eventually, removed original cat and knocked out internals, easy enough to do(bit messy)it made a difference but nowt to write home about, but then again started using veg oil in it at the same time so cant really give a accurate result:)

Ye not wrong gordon it does smell a bit,but i can put up with that and ye dont really smell it when ye driving(dont know about the people behind us though:))i put £20 worth of diesel in then just brim the tank with veg oil(and im lucky as i can get around 100 litres of used oil a week for free,so cant complain.)
Does any one know how much these tanks hold, cheers bobby
