Seeing all the newer and modern cars with their Daytime-Running-Lights, which are not difficult to miss because they are so BRIGHT... , I reckoned on modifying my Td4 for safety's sake. It's not a bad thing to be seen.
Anyway, getting down to the nitty-gritty... I bought two type H11 LED bulbs from Ebay. The Ebayer's Handle is, Thunder1688. I removed the standard Halogen lamps from the Foglights and fitted the LED bulbs instead. The LED bulbs were a little too large to fit but using a smoothing file on the lamp holder lugs soon fixed that.
Then I went to Fuse No, 39 (10 Amp) in the main fuse box and removed it. By taking a supply from an Ignition controlled feed, with a fitted in-line fuse holder complete with a 10 Amp fuse, then connecting with a single Male Spade conector into the Negative side of Fuse No 39, the new LED Foglights can operate independantly of the Main Rotary Stalk Light Switch at the Steering-wheel. I can still select the Fog-Lights ON-or-OFF with it's own original dedicated switch. They now work without any other lights on, and look very FLASH.
A simple thing to do - I think. If anyone is confused by my description I will rewrite it with a bit more detail.
