If one was to be looking for a JCB type machine to dig ones trenches and move ones pile of stones about where would one look for a cheap one.?
Maybe one could ask on here about ones need for one and then one maybe find one.
Dya fink:rolleyes:

One could collect one if yuz one was a cheap one and not too fer away.

farm trader, plant auction, how much yer wanna spend???
Farmers don't sell anything thats any good, they squeeze every penny out of it then want loadza cash for whats left.
Missed a couple on fleabay not too far away.

looking to spend 1500/2000 quid on something that runs, stops, digs, shovels, and is reliable.

yer could always hire one if you've only got a set amount of work to do
Trouble is that the work will be done when the weather is ok and when we have time and money for materials so it could drag on for months, hence, buy one and sell it on after we've done wi it.:)

exactly what sort of work ar you going to do with it and how big a machine do you need
wheel jcbs are good if you need to move them on a road but dont perform nearly as well as a tracked 360 excavator look for a hanex or a kumatsu prob for general work somthing about 7.5 tons which is about the smallest that will manage a feild drain in clay and if you can find one in your price go for a case 13 tonner

also raz try nationwide or 1st access platforms (google) for ex rental cherry pickers being sold off

13 tonner! how big is your garden?! seriously though, how deep do you want these trenches? will look up your local Geology on me maps, but i reckon a 5-7ton tracked machine is what you need for trenches < 4m deep.

Wouldn't mind a small Case 360 but would then need a dumper to travel about 100 yds with stone for driveway so would work out expensive.
3 ton mini digger would do it but again expensive to get something like, if yer no wara mean :)
JCB type backhoe machine best all round for the job if I can find one . going out tomorow for a look see.
If any one has left one parked for the weekend , I have some keys for most machines so better watch out:eek:

if yer digging found n yer need tae shift muck of o site then yer amount yer spend on waiting time loading wi a 7 tonner is more than the extra runnuning costs o a 13 and yer can un load pallets o block at 1.8 ton wi a 13 yer cant wiv a 7
mind you ahm building a school n weve got 5 machines going
