A little help and opinion please,

So on my 1986 , defender 90, I've done the full Led light conversion, all works well except the indicator light on the dashboard never flashes, it makes the faint noise, but that's it.

I think i know why they is and how to fix. but I would like a second opinion and tips on how to fix to check if they are the same as my thoughts.

Led doesn't take as much power so probably doesn't trigger the relay fully. Increase the load or replace with a compatible flasher.
Could be an earth issue too, related to the lower power draw.. most problems are earth related

thanks gents, that not the answer i was expecting,, I had previously been told / found if i replaced on Led bulb with a normal one it would sort it

Fit that bulb from @miktdish link and it will work…..
That’s all I done and mine works fine. I have a full set of LEDs

or have you tried leaving the side repeaters as standard bulbs this may work?

When I converted mine to led the tell tale worked fine. What doesnt work is when a bulb or bulb holder goes faulty, the tell tale still flashes at its normal rate instead of flashing much quicker therefore you never know when there is a problem.

Back again gents, So bought and fitted the LED dash bulb with the extra earth, but no joy, still no flash on the dash. Thoughts, what do i check next and how.

so thats a negative, turned the bulb around and still does not work with the indicators or hazards . ???

Just my thoughts

Maybe the 36 year old classic Land Rover is better off left standard and not fitted with aftermarket tat?

Well yes, but my indicators have never failed to work, in fact l don't recall ever changing an indicator bulb since l bought my 110 back in 2014, 85,000 miles ago

Changed plenty of sidelight bulbs though, and a few headlamp ones

But l drive with the lights on all the time, which probably doesn't help.

try refitting old lamp I believe the dash warning lamp relies on the return via the un used indicator side ,as LED's are polarity sensitive this maybe the problem

So check the earth, even ran a new cable as a temp measure to a solid part of the car, still no joy with indicators or the hazards, My original theory and advice was to refit one old bulb, due to the reason mystery just posted, so will give that a go and let you know how i get on.

Have you changed the side repeaters?

normally if you press hazard switch trailer light should flash.
Have you set up the LED indicator relay up?
Normally turn a knob on the relay until dash flashes
