Dash/ Speedo illumination

When I bought the car I noticed that one of the bulbs where out, This didnt seem to be a problem at the time as I thought it was a matter of simply replacing the bulb in the speedo housing, I removed this this morning only to find no bulbs, the unit seems to have LED lights soldered to the curcuit board and the one I was trying to replace is missing...... Any one had this problem before as the owners manual does not seem to mention it at all and cant even find a speedo unit on ebay that looks like mine, Do I have too buy a new unit, or is there away of fixing this as I cant break the unit down enough to get at where the bulb would fit. or is it one of them things I have to live with if the part is too expencive

If it helps the car is an 04 plate freelander facelift 2.5 V6 Sport 3door

I have just ome across the same on my pr facelift 2001 TD4. It appears I have to replace the unit as the LED has been removed...!
