I've just purchased a Freelander Station Wagon Xi 1.8 petol model. Yesterday I noticed that the digital clock in the dash is faded and broken up. You can't read it in short. I've read some information and I see there are two types of clocks, a clock only and one with radio information displayed in it.

How do you tell which sort yours uses to buy. Also, how easy are they to take out a replace yourself from the dash?

By the way here is a picture of my new baby. :p

In all seriousness someone will be along shortly, you'll have to accept a petrol freelander has legendary unreliability issues

Was looking on eBay and I cannot believe they want £80+ for a pathetic little digital clock that sits in the dash. Are they having a laugh or what?

I expected to pay about £5-10 for one.

Anyway, I'll give some extra information that might help here. I don't think it has the standard radio installed in it. I have a Kenwood CD/Radio installed, so I'm not sure even if I installed the digital clock that displays radio information also, if it would work because the stereo is not standard Freelander gear.

if you do a search in the freelander section, there is a thread about how to repair the clock. involves taking it apart and gluing a piece of the pcb.

good luck.

Bit of a late reply but i had the same problem went to the scrap yard and got one out of a rover, changed the bulbs over (Landy's have green bulbs rovers have red) and Bazinga! worked a treat, there standard Lucas parts fitted in loads of rovers. Im not in the slightest bit electrically minded and it was a really simple job, Paid £10 for the display to the scrap dealer. Bargin.
