Hi all, im replacing my gear and handbrake gators this week, and looking at my Havac unit to see if my Book symbol is caused by faulty sticky dirty switches.. so while i have this in bits, i was wondering about swapping out the back light bulbs with LED..

has anyone tried this ?

if so, can you tell me where to buy them, and what i need as i know the bulbs are different wattages, and some are plain bulbs, and some in holders..

cheers

ahhh... oh well... was just a thought....
i read a post some place where someone was changing the binnacle / dash/ speedo lights over to LED.. so thought it might work was all...

It might have been a post from me, probably this one LandyZone - Land Rover Forum
I've got LED's in all places the small T5 286 'match head' sized bulbs are fitted. They are a bit directional and avoid the ones with the square chip face that really are. I got some like these 10 T5/286 Green LED Wedge Bulbs for Dashboard Lights | eBay with a dab of green paint on the end to dim the directional beam. They do have a soft green glow and last forever unlike the normal filament ones but are polarity sensitive - check you've got them in the right way round before screwing everything back together. Unlike the others I would recommend them especially for the tricky one behind the fan speed knob. You can graft them into the moulded holders in the HVAC panel.
