This is looking more like my first lakes trip :p more and more groups keep appearing out of nowhere from the first three :D

I could go for the cake......the geo thing isn't as appealing

Seeing as no one knows what it is, cause I just invented it, how do you know :p:p:p

I'm assuming its the same as geo caching where you go round trying to find set checkpoints with a gps but you've set these checkpoints instead of random bobble hats :D

Not even close, this is far more fun :D:D

And can you imaging the mayhem sending folks off on their own would cause :D

Oh and does anyone know if ordinary mobiles will give GPS coordinates without something like Memory Map.

And if so how do you do it

Never mind, I found it :D

At least I did if my group all have iphones :D

You will need to know the following

How can I display current iPhone GPS coordinates?

You can use your iPhone's built in GPS to display the latitude and longitude coordinates of your current location. Follow these steps to find your location coordinates in degrees, minutes and seconds:

1. Make sure that Location Services is ON. Navigate to Settings -> Location Services -> ON
2. In the list of apps under Location Services, make sure Compass is ON
3. Press the Home button to exit Settings
4. Open the Compass app

Your current GPS coordinates are displayed at the bottom of the screen.

So you can put your name down as leader of something :D:D

still recovering from the weekend

need to sit down and digest some info.
currently in turmoil after delivering a (non running) robin reliant from odsal to queensbury, to a yard in a mill complex where a mad max lookalike owns the cellars and half the ground floor, lives in a Leyland bus in the yard, and has the most enormous collection of "stuff" I've ever seen.

still not sure what to make of it :jaw:
