as I need to fault code abs , but was told to bleed abs would need lynx.

hi

i think its 2001 for petrol and 2004 for diesels when they became obd2 compliant

sorry cant help about the lynx system as i bought a hawkeye, after trying ones of ebay that didnt work or gave wrong codes went out and bought the hawkeye as i knew it would work and also give accurate readings

I've not tried the Lynx system because it came out after I had bought a Nanocom, but it is not self contained as you need a laptop to run it on. However this can be an advantage. The major difference between the ordinary and the pro versions is that the pro version is unlocked for all vehicles whereas the ordinary version just works on yours. The main thing is to get some sort of diagnostic fault code reader that works, because without one you can be struggling with problems for ages whereas a fault code reader can guide you to the offending part much more quickly.

Just to be clear, despite my disco being a 2001 D2 they are NOT OBD II COMPLIANT. Hence you need a nanocom, hawkeye, lynx , autologic or Testbook :)

Not sure about D1 probably similar....

I have one of these but be very wary it is not as useful as you might expect. I am having to scrap my 300tdi auto after using this kit, having programmed a new key fob, which works a treat, it refused to start. I have traced the problem to the immobiliser in EDC ECU but cannot correct it, those options are not available, SO BEWARE! Before anyone asks I have spent the last four months working on this and am fed up with it.
