Chaps,

My D90 (2010) can sit on the drive in rain and stays dry, inside.
Then, if I drive - the rubber mat gets wet, but I don't know why.

Is this common?
Is there a fix?

Thx
Max

Maybe the heater intake drain is blocked, assuming 2010 model has same set up as previous model. The bit before the fan fills with water and then when driving fan chucks it in. Run fan and hear sloshing then that's your problem.

There are lots of ingress points (unfortunately).

The floor pans can sometimes have a gap in the corners by the gearbox tunnel or the A pillar.
The pedal boxes can also leak.

Like @marjon said, take the mats out and sit inside whilst someone uses a pressure washer underneath and around the bulkhead in the engine compartment.

My 110 TD5 does this, passenger side, you can get torrential rain and it will be bone dry.

Then, a passing shower and there's a pool of water in the footwell.
l've never figured out where it comes from, but l suspect the door seal. A new one made no difference though.

Is this not normal for a defender?

Maybe, but if we don't try and fix it the missus moans and if we don't fix it, she won't ride in it, then it gets less use and then the missus moans about it being in the way dripping oil on the drive and being a toy.. then you know she won't quit until it is up for sale...

My ex missus said it was the landy or her...

still miss her..

but maybe i shouldn't have bought two extra ones after she was gone...

Think how much hassle i am having she might have been right...lol
