Hello,
I haven't posted on the Disco forum before, probably because I haven't got one yet, however I'm about to sell my 110 and buy a D4 can anybody work out what these wheels are?

Cheers

Oh good stuff, thanks for heads up.

Ur very welcome

There’s a wealth of information on that forum, think theres about 10 x of us on here now that own D3/4 so where growing in numbers, lol

Hello again,

Checked out the D3 site, indeed lots of stuff on there, what im trying to do is build up a picture of what to look for before i buy, i did the same thing with my TD5 110 before i bought it and managed to avoid the early engines etc, my main worry/concern that im seeing before my purchase is the amount of D4'S that have needed new engines, is there a particular year or type that had these engine issues or anything to look for in particular ?
Many Thanks

When i first got my D3 the many D4 owners on the D3/4 forum were saying the D4 were much less hassle than their previous D3 models.

But I have noticed over the last 2 maybe 3 years people no longer say that and many are getting out of Land Rover ownership altogether, one guy summed it up when he said he was driving around in a 30k time bomb, which would cost 10k fo fix when it blows!
Lots are going for Volvos, but the same people buying the Volvos and waxing lyrical about them used to wax lyrical about the D4 over the D3, make of that what you will.

Apparently the same 3.0 sdv6 in the D5 is still hand grenading, so they havent as yet fixed the issue and most likely never will.

Have a read up on the approved used Land Rover warranty and be amazed even they dont cover the snapped crank problems!

Oh Wow thanks for that info, maybe that's why i'm seeing D4S for 10k, 11k with 100k miles on then, people getting out of them.
I'd be gutted if i bought a duff, ive just gone through loads of trouble with my TD5 defender and its still not fixed.

Ok ill keep reading up cheers

Thats probably what early hgh spec ones are worth, lower spec ones obviously worth less.
The last of the line D4 HSE 66 plates with 30/40k on the clock on are retailing at just over 30k.

Early D3 are 5k territory now late ones are not worth much more as people think a little more and I can have a D4.
4.5yrs ago early D3 HSE were 10k.

I wonder what the future holds as I cant see the enthusiasts taking to the D5 when they hit 10k?
