ur So very welcome

so if u don’t mind me saying but that’s making even more sense with the driveshaft replacement along with the error code

so with the front right error code and u getting the driveshaft replaced I wonder if they’ve allowed the wheels to hang without disabling the suspension first , this can cause damage to the height sensor / arm , or even the strut

would indeed double check that front right height sensor plse as if it was ok beforehand it does strongly point towards that sensor

assume they allowed all 4 x wheels to hang , this can cause damage to height sensors and airbags if they didn’t disable the suspension , i would be tempted to call them and say that the suspension is now out of calibration since the driveshaft was replaced , if there a good garage they may fix it FOC without any hassle,

Thinking about it , they may have also caught or pulled a wire without knowing with the end of a long breaker bar etc , so indeed see how u get on after inspecting everything , ensuring the height sensor arms are hooked on correctly, not cracked and con3cotrs properly seated , no pulled wires either

lastly I hope they didn’t undo the front lower wishbone bolts, if they did that would also throw all the alignment out of whack

so indeed maybe a phone Call to pick there brains to see what they’ve got done, ie ask them if they undone those bolts, disable the suspension , allowed the wheels to hang etc , at least then it will guide with what they’ve done

sorry I’m waffling again, lol

So checked through all the data , the voltage sensor should read 5 Vdc not 1 Vdc

there are 3 x connectors that are normally placed behind the front near side wheel arch liner , however as urs is a 2008 they were moved to behind the headlight

I’m pretty sure there behind the passenger side headlight, plse have a look to ensure there plugged in, no damage wires etc , u could also test at the connector using a multimeter to ensure u have the 5 Vdc supply

hope this is useful to u

So been spending some time looking through the connectors for u that are placed behind the headlight, the actual sensor is placed on the reservoir valve block

the 5Vdc supply cable will be a yellow/ black wire

fingers crossed the Autel is reading the supply Vdc and not the signal voltage , at least u only have to check one time wire , please note the ign needs to be on

Finally found the connector I was looking for that goes to the pressure sensor

connector C2294/2293 , Pin 5 , yellow / brown , should be 5 Vdc with ign on using a multimeter , easier to back probe it onto both sides of the connector , that way ur ensuring the voltage is going through the connector correctly

At least this now gives u a start , of things to check etc , I’ll stop waffling now, lol

hmm...

Calibrate it and see what happens next.
Have you checked to see if you have twisted or dislocated the right height linkage on the wheel that you jacked up?

As for electrical connections and plugs I can highly recommend the Wurth contact spray as it leaves a light oily the film on everything to stop further corrosion.

Hi mate

that’s strange as mine was also very slightly leaning to left hand side , removed the front wheel arch liner, cleaned the earth posts and checked the other 3 x connectors which resolved it after I had also recalibrated it a few times

found out those earth posts were used by the ECM, TCM and suspension system

haven’t used my scanner yet for suspension but would imagine in can do alot of things , plus assume the D1 and D2 are included due to the dates going back to 1994

If it will go back to 1994 that means it will do the discovery one with the EDC engines which were 1996 onwards automatic only
A lot of people have trouble reading the codes on them hence the reason they change the pump from EDC to the old-fashioned manual one

Much appreciated all this effort
hopefully I can make a start tommorow, difficult getting the time with a new baby and all that comes with I think despite the swearing and this car gets many choice words I enjoy the peace working on it .

ur so very welcome, alas I picked my knowledge up when I had to virtually rebuild my entire suspension system

tell u what , I’ve got a very good scanner , multimeters , testers etc , my own drive way so don’t have to worry about working in the road

if ur able to get up to me in Swanley I’ll plug my scanner in and go through the entire suspension system for u to see if we can pin down all the errors
Hgv
have a decent trolley jack and axle stands , alas I can’t remove wheels or move the trolley jack / axle stands etc around because of my back , annoyingly the other day I tried to move it with no success because I need to bleed my brakes out and change the fluid

Sorry I’m waffling , lol, I don’t mind spending 3-4 hours on it for u for the huge sum of FOC

know it can be very frustrating , so more than happy to test everything step by step

at the end of the day if u don’t mind if needs be to remove ur wheels and place axle stands underneath I can do all the testing for u

hope that’s useful to u mate

Ok checked a lot of these wires on Sunday , seem to be getting the readings you mentioned , I tried calabarating a few times got one successful , but still says going to extended mode when I try lower to access , ( says clear obstacle and reset ) , any how so I’ve now driven it 200 miles and no warnings have come back but I must say on the motorway the car felt awful like moving all over road etc , as if high winds and a little more bumpy , not on the bump stops bumpy but certainly not normal ? , you mentioned alignment before do you think it could be ?

hi mate

many thks and indeed my concern was if they undone the front lower wishbone arm to get the driveshaft in

was it the front driveshaft that was changed plse

are u able to get it to stay in normal ride height long enough to measure the heights for me , ie from the centre of the wheels to the bottom of the plastic wheel arch liner in MM plse, putting some masking tape on the wheel centres can make life easier as u can put a line then on the tape to measure from

that will let us know how it’s sittimg , needs to be on level ground as much as possible

plse let us know what u find and we’ll can go from there

at the end of the day if u don’t get anywhere it may req a gap iid to be plugged in as we can then at least ensure what the ride heights are seeing the scanner is more accurate , it may also pull up some more error codes that the basic Autel can’t

of course my offer still stands if ur tearing ur hair out , in coming up to me and I’ll plug my bigger Autel scanner in to see if we can get it calibrated for u, if not can spend some time going through it and all FOC

Forgot to ask , what was the reading at the pressure sensor plse and what readings did u get for the Vdc supply at each height sensor , not the signal Vdc , thks

many thks so pretty good in a way with it being able to read pre OBD2 compliant landies

Il double check the voltage tommorow from work , just done a measurement after I tried calab i had it almost but a few mm so it went up a third time and then I got the will rise when cooled down , which didn’t happen so it stayed in off rd height with red warning , i went in to calab again got it to open cross valve then I cancelled the calab just to get the warning off and it worked luckily , currently measurements are
455 fr

458 FL

515 RR

490 RL

Il have another go tommorow then will seek help I’m hoping I’m just struggling with this and nothing major wrong as your so right the hair pulling is unreal lol
