D2 TD5 inline thermostat Beta Testers wanted

Hey guys, I am looking for some Beta testers to test out my new D2 TD5 inline thermostat kits - similar to my D2 kit you can read about here: https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...thread-105010/

Kits will replace the factory plastic thermostat, inline housing will go in the upper radiator hose at the junction where the bypass hose currently comes in, metal splice will go in the low radiator hose where the current thermostat lives. Bypass hose will be gone forever.

I will provide all parts for the Beta testers, would ask that you provide shipping cost.

To be considered you will need to have a obd2 temperature monitor or mechanical temperature gauge installed. You will be working with me to work out any issues on install and fitment, but I think it will be as straightforward as the V8 D2 kit. Likely will see similar results to the D2 kit with more consistent temperatures between 180-190 degrees and no possibility of plastic thermostat housing issues.

I had 300tdi when I started typing it, realized my error and edited it but not fast enough I see.
did this ever go anywhere? I'm trying to upgrade to electric fans so a better thermostat would also help me out, it get hot in Australia

Replaces factory plastic thermostat unit with an all metal unit with the temperature option of your choice, from 160 to 195. Benefits:
1. Metal housing - no plastic deterioration.
2. Relocated to top radiator hose - service with minimal coolant loss.
3. More consistent temperature control due to more reliable thermostat operation.
4. Lower operating temperatures due to lower temperature elements.

5. How does it affect the heater temperatures at running and after what time from start up does it become effective ?

4. Lower operating temperatures generally improve fuel economy and horsepower. While there is a lower limit it typically is in the 140-160 degree F range. Diesel engines are typically slightly different and depending on the operating environment colder may not be better. The bigger advantage over the OEM design is the elimination of the bypass circuit in the OEM thermostat which has a known failure history.
5. Should not affect heater temps at running or warm up time. In fact the elimination of the bypass circuit forces more flow through the heater matrix giving faster warm up to the cabin.
