D2 for d3

Looking to swap my d2 for d3 150 thou no egr tdi chip auto 5 good tyres ]can put 12 months mot few scratches if no swap what do you reckon it's worth bot sure how to upload pics it's in black

A good sorted D3 are going around £7k so to be honest can’t see anyone wishing to swap , unless ur going to add at least 3- 4k

Is that the D2 u bought a few months ago plse

How much is a Tdi powered D2 worth? Depends, on whether the owner has lavished attention on it or whether he is the kind of illiterate tw*t that cannot be arsed to find out what engine it has or even string a cogent sentence together when he is asking for help.

Just had a look ref value , put in details that it got the highest price £800

So for that kind of money all it will buy for the D3 is a nice new set of wheels and tyres

At least that’s a start , lol

I'm out, I bow to the mighty Double Decker, the pacers are a bit meh lol

I saw a D3 local'ish for £1500, needed a new engine amongst other things, lot of cash for what is essentially a scrapper considering you can get a 4.6 HSE P38 for £2500 and up in good working order!

There was one in Stirling about a month ago for 1500 quid also with a blown engine...

Needs suspension arms doing as well , plus high mileage on that

Best place to be honest is on the D3 forum, if it needs a new engine allow £4-5k , or what many people do is buy a cheap complete running S type jag , take the engine out, swap ancillaries and then sell the parts to regain some money back, around £2k , also some when they get the engine out of the jag they take the heads off etc and check everything

Id be wanting a derv model if I was going for one, 4-5k for an engine id rebuild it myself
good to know you can rob the engine out a jag good info

That’s the trouble with some of the engines , if the oil pump cover fails or timing belt lets go it’s normally scrap , sometimes can be very lucky

Indeed that’s what many do ref the jag engine , have to swap all the sensors , injectors I think are different but not 100% , sump is deeper on the D3 but of course will have everything u need to rob off the disco engine

Must admit extremely nice to drive

There's a few kicking about here I always admire them but they don't flash wave or look your way, stuck up gits Iol
I get loads of waves ect in my Old discos & defender I would miss that...

Agree, but 8/10 I’ll still get a wave if I acknowledge the older landies

New models I don’t even bother

People often wave at me when I'm in my Disco, often quite vigorously. Others point or just avert their eyes.

Seriously though, never had a wave from a D3 or higher, very rarely get a wave from a Defender.
