I have a 1992 two door D1. It’s had the bonnet replaced with a later bonnet. The panel gaps either side of the bonnet are noticeably big! It’s as if early D1 bonnets were wider. Is that right? Or is there something wrong with my car… it’s not been written off and I’m sure it’s not been in an accident.
Any thoughts would be welcome 👍

Measure the bonnet across at certain point, (themselves measured from say the front edge), put them up on here, along with the gap measured between both wings, then we can compare.

These plus pics would help us help you.;)

The front wings being adjustable seems to be the answer. I think I was just wondering if early D1’s had a different bonnet.

Thanks for your help everyone. Maybe lay off the estrogen though 🤣👍👍

There's only one bonnet that fits all the D1s so both the 200 & 300 series.
The adjustment points are just the hinges and the bonnet catch.
My D1 has a gap along the sides, I can see a part of each wing retaining screw something you don't see on the RRc. :)

Thanks @discool
That answers my question about the bonnet being the same for the 200 & 300 series. I think some people are suggesting that you can adjust the wing by loosening the wing retaining screws.

Thats not by design as the outer wing screws to the inner wing. Maybe a couple millimetres in the size of the fixing screw the wing nothing more, but then my discos bodywork is as it left the factory.
