1998 UK-spec D1 up on a ramp for some serious pre-CT (ie French MOT) checkover.
My man discovered that the airbag module was u/s, so I bought a secondhand warranted one from Avenger 4x4 (very quick service, by the way). Although they advertised this as being for a < DISCOVERY TD5 RANGE ROVER P38 SRS AIRBAG SYSTEM ECU AWR6507 > it carried the same serial number and pin-outs as my TDi. However, the new one seems to have a memory from its previous life, it's displaying a 'feeble battery' error on the Testbook. The battery fitted to my Disco is 100% fit for purpose.
Any clues as to how to clear this memory please? We don't want to fry it........
I should add that my guy is a superb independent LR/RR specialist, but he's working a little in the dark here since a UK-spec 300TDi Auto differs markedly from one of European-spec. In fact, I have never seen another D1 auto here in France since I arrived, and the overwhelming majority of the D2s I see are also manuals.
All help appreciated.
