cyclone breather ?

disco 300tdi 1996
i decided to strip off my manifold and and allthe pipes from the turbo to clean them when i took the pipe from the cyclone breather to the turbo it was full of oil, probebly about a egg cup full. My question is should the cyclone breather stop oil getting through to the pipe?if so then doe,s it need a new one on,or is there another problem i,m missing any thoughts please

it captures most oil but vapors will get through and accumeulate to oil in the pipe, have you cleaned it? wash it in paraffin then allow to drain for a day before you fit it again.
