Classic Cuts out when hot...

Hi folks,

my '93 hard dash LSE with the 4.2 V8 petrol starts no problem, but after about 5 minutes or so as it's gettingup to temp it splutters and cuts out, and won't start again until it's cold.

All ignition components have been changed for good quality new ones, the ignition amp has been replaced, the timing has been checked, and a new alternator and battery have been fitted due to a separate charging issue.

Any ideas where to start?

Did you replace the coil? Heat can kill one that's on the blink.

The coil is quite new, but wasn't great quality. One of the connectors looks burnt on it, do you think this could be causing the sproblem?

It's possible. When heat builds up in a faulty coil, they can stop functioning properly until cool.

The ignition amp is failing. You may have one one the distributor ? Common problem
