Heya,

Has anyone ever made a full custom bumper for their freelander? Wondering if anyone has and also if anyone knows the legality of it - just no sharp edges I guess.

I'm talking about steel btw.

Thanks :)

If you replace the FL1 plastic bumper with something steel, you'll remove the soft impact protection and absorption of some of the energy in a low speed crash.

May I ask why the steel bumper? Are you fitting a winch?

There are some body kit options from after market sellers but they look orroble. Like really ortoble.

This is true, I'm just into modifying and customising and making something unique, and I thought that it would look quite mean with a metal bumper(s) - I know its something they do in Canada.

I prefer the look of standard vehicles without bling. There's was a mad max version of a FL1 on ebay recently.

Check with your insurance company before you start making bits to modify your vehicle...at your age you might get a surprise...
