Well as I have posted recently we just got back from France when the dreaded auto fail safe prog kicked in. Anything over 2,500 revs it kicked in. Stop restart and then it would kick in on 2,5000 revs again! So because the hospital I have to attend has got a very steep exit I decided to use low gear setting, went up the incline like a rocket at 4,000 revs. Stopped when I was in a clear place and went back tp high ratio in normal drive mode, hey presto failsafe kicked in again even though I had cleared code using my cheap old reader. Got home and thought about and chased up when my new unit would arrive....not for a week yet! so today I started the Old girl like normal but put it into sport mode, went like a rocket and in a certain bit of road where it was safe I wellied it up to 60 mph well over 3,000 revs and no problem, obviously kept it in sport, went to my appointment and used sport mode to leave the steep exit, no problem, went towards home and then pulled over and turned off. Started in normal mode then drove home deliberatley exceeding 2,500 revs absolutely no problem, how weird is that, apparently the ageing computer took it's time understanding that 2,500 could be exceeded safely. I will go in and completely clear the trans code when I get my new bit of kit because it won't be redundant for long, but in this instance it seemed it just needed to be shown what low rev actually is and that it could exceed 2,500 without blowing the box, I should have used it on one of the ridiculously steep bridges in Normandy! A positive outcome, how refreshing!

Nice job, keep the faith!
These L322 systems do seem to have a number of self learning or resetting programs but there’s no mention of them in the handbooks! Perhaps the stealers have been earning good money off them for years?
It does feel good to find them yourself.
Tricky

Funnily enough it was my friendly garage, (the owner is Lebanese and they absolutey adore old M57 engined L322's there, My hairdresser has one they keep there just for their annual holidays, apparently they far prefer them because they DON'T have key less entry!)
I digress, my garage said "it will either be a solenoid issue or just a brain reset required and to do it at home!" They did add that they would do it and source the parts 2nd hand to save a few bob if I needed them to but in their opinion it would not need booking in, and fingers crossed all seems OK now.
Have to mention again that the old girl waited until she had got back to blighty through the middle of a massive storm before showing her 'trans message' ....oo er missus!
