Cruise Control

Can anyone help me get a few facts straight?

I'm pretty sure that when I bought my '52 plate Td4 that cruise control was not available, however I've just got hold of a recent accessory list for the original Freelander (i.e. not Freelander 2) and the fetching replacement steering wheels can be specified with cruise controls.

Does this mean that the Freelander got cruise control sometime around '03-'04? If so, does anyone know anything about fitting the system to a '52 vehicle? I'm sure it won't be cheap, but for the long drags into Europe for the hols it may well be worth it.

P.S.

I have search this forum and seen a few entries on the subject of cruise control for Freelander, but I'm still a bit unclear as to whether people have been talking about Landrover kit, or 3rd party products.

mine doesnt have it on a td4 2003. and when i asked about it at the stealership they said it only was put on the v6?
