cranking and taking ages to start

I had this one:

GLOW PLUG (HEATERS) FAULT
Type: INVALID FAULT,LOGGED,INTERMITTENT
RPM = 8
WATER TEMP = 92
OCCURRANCE = 6

Would that have been an iffy relay rather than a faulty plug then?
Apart from the glowplug fault, the rest often occur during cranking as the battery voltage drops especially if the battery is marginal.
As far as I can see, the glowplug heaters fault can only be the relay as many with failed glowplugs have never had a fault code, but it could also be low voltage.

Nope, it had a powerbox though

Bit of an enigma then. But the glow plugs are not a simple on off function, the time they are active is varied in line with engine temperature up to the cut of point, were they no longer function. So maybe it is an ECU temp sensor problem. Will have to have a look into that. :)
