crank sensor wiring v8 disco 2

Hi can anyone help me out with the wiring for the crank position sensor on a v8 disco2 (4.0 2000). ive looked on rave but i do not understand the diagram, there are 3 wires all going to the ecu, are all 3 wires just normal wires, because mine seems to have been bodged, ive got what seems to be like a tv arial wire but with 2 normal wires and a braided wire which is just under the insulation, this wire is joined with a terminal, if it makes any difference its fitted with a dream lpg kit, thanks phil

From what I can see on RAVE, the wiring from the crank position sensor to the ECU is twin screened. That's two wires (yellow/black and pink/black) inside a braid screen.
The screen helps to reduce interference either from outside getting into the crank position sensor circuit or to stop interference from radiating out from the ECU to other circuits. It seems to be important that screened cable is used.

That is correct all of our ECM extension cables use a screened twisted pair for that sensor.
