i posted here cos it was just a post about splitting nuts! not specifically my 90 handbrake... you asked :) anyway, grunt ive shagged one bolt :( is removale of the output flange difficult? or just more siezed bolts? i must admit, i used a 14mm cos it fitted fine, i tried the 9/16 later but like i said earlier the bolts were soft like mush. aww well looks like ive buggered it for now.

will hopefully sort it out in 2 weekends time :D i need to get the damn thing started first! having priming troubles (See defender section) anyway, as always, thanks for your input guys, really good to have someone on the end of the keyboard to offer all that knowledge that would be wasted if it wasnt for landyzone.

you'll need a 30mm socket and a big ****off bar for the output flange, you should replace the nut and use a torque wrench to tighten it up. While youve got the flange off you could replace the flange seal.
