CRACKING NOISE AT START UP

Starting up in the morning, I am getting loud cracking noise apparently coming from the
area around the sun roof. About one second intervals and then after about five hits it
disappears. ???

Thanks in advance. You chaps are the greatest!

 
Five hits of what please?
The hand,
A joint,
White powder?
Whiskey perhaps... I suppose five whiskies and it's not going to matter anymore :p
 
Have you checked for crows?

This sound is exactly like wip. Sunroof operates with tilt perfectly. I have no idea what motor could be causing this
especially since it is coming from the sunroof area.

You may have a few teeth missing but not off the part that tilts, see posr #13, if not can you slide the sunroof whilst someone operates the button, you may slide it past the missing teeth section.
 
Remove the interior lamp cover and check that the clamp holding the actuator cables onto the motor is tightened down.
