Crack in a 2,25 head

Is it possible to run a 2,25 gas powered hunk of a Land Rover engine so
hot that the cylinder head cracks all the way from front to rear end
without destroying the block?

The question is whether the engine must have been frozen such that the
sylinder head cracked or if it has been run dry (without water)to make
this happen. Any opinions?

Have a look at the piston bores, the piston crowns and then the
bottom end is the only way, and check the block for water leaks. If
it has been run with no water at all then it's just possible you may
get away with it...........

nope unless a rockape has tightened the head bolts one side at a time
instead of the correct way but I was snooping round Anchor supplies looking
for a compass (of all things ) and found something that might help

that should carve the traffic somewhat
