I'm looking into buying a cordless impact wrench as I don't really have the space to put an air compressor anywhere

Unfortunately the expensive brands are out of my price range such as Snap on, Makita etc has anyone purchased a budget one i was looking to spend about £100 or are the cheaper ones a waste of time

I bought a second hand snap on off eBay and got the battery re celled for £80 and it's far better than the new Sealey one I bought.

i had a clarke 18v one, £100 ish, from machine mart, they dont do wet though...ie swimming when cars flooded,

you can get ones that pug into mains if its for use at home

What about a mains powered one? I got a clarkes 1000 for £55 and it's done everything asked of it so far (crank and flywheel bolts)

Dewalt. I have used both the 18v cordless and a mains-powered one for the last 8 years. Very robust bits of kit - been mainly used outdoors for extended periods. Much depends on the battery you get tho. Like most things - you get what you pay for.

Hi, i got a milwaukee 28v it is very heavy duty and runs off li ion batteries, had it over 2 yrs now, used daily and only just replaced the second hand batteries that came with it.The beauty of milwaukee is that the whole range of cordless tools run of the same battery, i also have a drill, torch, sawzall and an awsome anglegrinder, the milwaukee 18v tools are just as good. my mate just got a snap on 18v prob the best but v expensive. You get what you pay for, i bought a 24v £70 cheepie ,didnt stand up to daily use .Buy the best you can afford!!!

I also have the clarke 240V one from machine mart, Excellent bit of kit, cant fault it at all. better deal if you can get to one of the machine mart vat free days thats where i got mine, less the £50.

Did have to manually change my wheels on monday though, thought i had killed the brushes as it didnt power up. changed me wheels, picked it up to put it away and noticed the brush had just come out, a quick tighten up with a screw driver and back in business, if only I had given it a more detailed look over.

what about an engine powered breaker 1" drive will undo most nuts ive come across
two stroke buzzy smoky make you feel invincible .[ quite heavy though ]
Alternativley a long breaker bar .:D

i bought a no name brand new off ebay £50 delivered 24v n its been brilliant cant fault it

24 Volt Cordless Impact Wrench Gun Driver 2 Batteries 24V In Blowcase Brand New | eBay
same as this 1

I've got the same one, it works just fine, to be honest it's not that powerful but for speeding up repetitive jobs it's ideal.

Undoing the Landy's wheel nuts is about it even with a fully charged battery. If you want lots of power you need a pneumatic one.

Where I used to work we had a couple of SnapOn 18V ones and they wouldn't undo wheel nuts torqued to 130NM but for wizzing the many bolts holding a 997 undertray on they are just the job.

I bought the 240v one from machine mart and I also have a big compressor and a windy gun, the Clark one has a lot more braking power of my air one on paper and it feels it to use aswell, think t cost £60 with some sockets included.
