cooper st or stt

Hi folks,
i seem only to be able to get cooper st's in 265 75 16 on rims at the moment, i was hoping to have them in 235 85 16.
i Can get the stt in 235 85 16 though.
most of my miles are road but i do line up a dirt track (mosty rock and gravel) and also need to go on to the land to pull out logs etc
V8 110 so i'm a bit worried about fuel consumption (am running 7.50 16 now)
AAAgh what to do???

i have stt 235/85's on my 110 and find them good on road or on dirt - wear is not to bad either, just have to watch the rocks (flint and granite here) as the tread can be cut quite easily

woss the fuel consumption loss in % as hes a v8..

haven't noticed any increase in fuel consumption still can get to Santander from here (600km) using only 50lts, but with roof rack on that goes up to 58lts

your on diesel then..

in my V8 when i fitted monster tyres i lost 20% distance.went down to 12mpg...on a good day...

so i asume the 265's would be noticable..?

always the throw back with having more rubber in contact with the road - increases drag

i would say yes as it does me.

12 ouch, i average 15mpg wich i'm happy with living at the top of a big hill at the end ov a dirt track.
running on LPG though

yep.booting it with a load.7mpg at best.....

fookin quick tho...

so it looks like it may be the stt's then. any ideas how many miles they'll do (ish)

mine have done 18 months of hard driving - about 22k miles and are still good tread

used em on comercial landys with the utility company.we beat the **** out o them and they still do 30k....

i used to run 2CV s and could get throughe them in 3-4k even michelin x pattern could be killes in 10k but i did used to race gti's on tight a roads and b roads :hippie: 3 wheels round corners was the norm! 110 v8 and i drive it slowed? it scares me ;-)
