Hi haven't had my 1997 disco 300tdi long and the coolant temp gauge needle points to the "c" on the gauge and doesn't move after that!

The car is fitted with aircon and i've checked the haynes manual to find the temp sender (no picture) - but i still can't find it on the engine!!!

Does anyone know where the temp sender is located???

(i've already done various searches on here before i get slagged off!)

Cheers
Daz

yes, it's the one on the thermostat housing, there is another sensor on top of the head but it's used for the EGR valve control and can be unplugged if the EGR is taken out

I've managed to find it! The sensor on the thermostat housing with the 2 pins is for the aircon fans. The temp sender is a plug with a single wire on the front drivers side of the head behind the thermostat housing. Got full scale on the gauge when i shorted out the lead so the sender is needing to be replaced.

Thanks
Daz
