can anyone help? i have freelander 1998 1.8 petrol 3 door my headgasket went in may 08 my local garage repaired it for mr (new gasket,skim,pressure test,thermostat cambelt) worked fine ive now done 3500 miles and now after driving for 5/6 mins i can here the coolant tank boiling over.i took it back to the garage who had it for a week and said they have checked the head thats ok radiator is ok thermostat ok os the only thing it can be is the engine block ???? i think it maybe a block some were i have drained the system and bleed it as some links on here have said but it still does it after running for a few mins the fan's kick in one thing i saw was the top rad pipe you could feel the water boiling in it ANY IDEARS i love my 4x4 and dont want it to go to scrap as the block they said was not cheep !! would be very thankfull for any help
 
is it pressurised?
is it losing any water, check hoses at joints!
is the hoses to the rad warm?

you may want to look in the gaylander section of this site!
 
run the engine till it gets hot, hold the top hose on the rad to see how hot that is, now hold the bottom hose on the rad to see how hot that is, if bottom hose is cold or warm the thermostat is stuck, is the heater working

the top hose get's red hot you can feel the water bubbleing as the bottom hose does stay cold it has done that before and after the headgasket change
