Coolant renewal procedure

My coolant doesn't have much, and I mean not a lot of OAT in it - so I'd like to replace/renew
Is there any special procedure to avoid air locks etc as there is on many cars? Thing is it has no leaks and works perfectly so I don't want to knacker it - would really like to just drain a bit out, and add a bit of OAT in or something, to bring the mix up to strength

if your gonna drain some out you may as well change the lot,just slowly fill via header tank and squeeze the top hose regularly to help push the air out when you are running the engine and check the small hose from top of rad to header tank is clear of coolant before you start to help avoid an air lock,download a copy of rave if you have'nt already its all in there,have fun and some patients dont rush it and you'll be ok.

Good call, I'll drain the Rad at the weekend and refill whatever is needed. Do you need the heater on max heat aswell for getting air out? Just not keen to disturb anything as it runs and cools so sweet at the mo, and I've had all sorts of air lock issues in other makes before..

i did when i did mine but i dont think you need to,its just one of them things that you've always done before so you automaticaly do it

Yes you do.

I read somewhere that it helps if you can refill it on a slope to try and get the header tank as far above the radiator as possible.

No idea if it's really necessary, but I tried it and didn't have any problems when I did mine last time.
