Hi,

Does anyone know exactly what the coolant rail is on a TD5 Discovery 2. I’m in the middle of changing the steering box and have been told that I have to unbolt the coolant rail from the chassis and move it to one side. Is it the joined series of metal pipes attached to the chassis under the radiator? I’ve unbolted the steering box from the chassis; it’s like trying to squeeze a sack of coal through a letter-box. Hope someone can help before I disconnect all the pipes and drain the system.

Thanks

Have you got RAVE in your 'pooter or on a CD?

Page 57-33 shows it all very clearly.

The coolant rail is a bit of bent pipe.

Thank you CharlesY

I don't have RAVE, didn't know it existed; in the past allways depended on Mr Haynes (for my Series 2a) but I know better now. Pushed aside coolant rail, steering box now out and removed the drop arm (Sod of a Job). Well on the way now except local LR dealership in darkest West Wales has no "O" ring seals in stock until after Bank Hols -= frustrating =. I'm new to this forum thingy but it's a great help. Thanks once again

ps - what's with all the quotes?

Hi Discomania

The links never worked but I found the RAVE info after doing a Google search, best thing since sliced bread or a lump hammer.
