Was playing with my Diagnostics tool and actuating the warning lamps on my dashboard when I came across this one....

Coolant Level Low...

I didn't think this had a sensor for that ?

MK1 2006 TD4

My diag tool also say my HP Fuel is 28,659kPa an LP Fuel is 26kPa which I believe is okey dokey.......( edited---LP Fuel is 364kPa---)

MAF 11 G/S at idle increasing with revs

MAP 99kPa

ATF Temp 42 Deg C, when engine warmed up

Loads of other stuff, quite impressed with it

Has a historic SRS alarm...Battery Low....cleared it ok

Think low coolant lamp was only used on face-lift 1.8k series engines with a sensor on the pipe that exits the header bottle.

Obviously that engine needs to alarm quick if coolant lost to save head gasket.

Was wondering if there was a wiring connection that could be adapted to my header bottle or pipe ?
Unfortunately the TD4 engine bay harness doesn't have the branch for the coolant level sensor. As Andy said, only the later 1.8 K series had that sensor, so only the K series harness had the level sensor branch as part of the harness.
There's nothing to say you can't retrofit that branch of the harness however.

Oh and your LP fuel pressure isn't high enough, 350 kPa being a more suitable value.

That's interesting, I can't find any reference to the sensor on any wiring diagram ( Rave etc) does anyone have a diagram ?

Happy New Year, Kevm!
What diagnostic tool do you use. I have a Bluetooth OBD2 dongle and Torque Pro app that I have constantly displaying the coolant temperature, but it doesn't read anything else.
Mike.

Using a DS150e ( its the WOW clone rather than the Delphi one ).

I've seen it on the correct wiring diagram for the model and year. The wiring is already at the Ipack plug, but in the TD4 harness, the wires for the sensor only extend into the main harness under the console somewhere and stop. There wasn't any need to add the extension to the engine bay for the TD4, so the harness binders simply didn't, leaving the loose end bound up with the rest of the wires.

I've got the colours somewhere, but I'm pretty sure the sensor wires are red and black, red going to the Ipack and black simply going to ground at one of the dash harness ground points.
