Hi, I have a 2010 defender 90 and I wanna run power to the back so I can attach it to a trailer. With an Anderson plug. Can I just connect positive and negative from the battery to the back? Will the alternator be able to change the leisure battery once the car battery is full? Or do I need to add something in between to allow it to work? Not sure on the amps but I will check my batterys. Will be putting a inverter and fuses in the trailer. Just wanna know what I need to do the the landy to make it work.

Many thanks

You will need a split charger system to charge the second battery. Look for the ones that sense the main battery is charged before it swaps to the auxiliary.

Remember to fit a nice fat mega fuse fuse where the large cable meets the cars battery, in case any silly twonk starts playing silly buggers!

Ive got a T max split charger in my disco plus a 12v-240v invertor in the boot.
Perfect for what you need.

Cheers Kev
