I have a p38, it has this message about gearbox overheat. It has been checked and the message will not go. Yes I do have a new battery £168 [ats] bought in Nov 2010 not sure what to do now. lass

Has the gearbox level been checked properly ie; on level ground with engine running at idle after you've gone from park to 1 and back again

Duff sensor, you may need to get the fault codes read.

Yes it has, and also the box does not get hot
