Yer will give it a clean I’m trying to find the shim that you can remove is it behind the surr clip do you know

Why do you want to remove the shim?
Unless the clutch is very worn it shouldn't need to be touched.
I think it's covered in RAVE.

It wasn’t coming on I’ve removed the shim and it’s working ok now when I turn on air con the clutch kicks in and stays on

I dont know if its supposed to stay on ,mine ,my compressor comes on kicks in on and off about 3 times a minute or so and less in cold weather ,,,but its minus 16 degrees at the vents on full cold
..

I'd be more suspect of the leaking seal at the shaft. The green fur can be the oil from the compressor escaping.

Only because compressor oil is green.
It could be a slow leak from nearly twenty years or so recent but it does show there has been a weep of oil and an oil leak never cures itself.

You need to find the reason why it wasn't coming on in the first place my mate.
Maybe a lack of gas, broken switch or a duff rad.

That's true our Keith, normally à leaking seal dries the compressor out along with the gas escaping.

I’ve replaced all the switches and the rad that’s the only thing left that’s original left and I couldn’t find any leaks but probably wouldn’t show up through that compressor seal the rad had a leak so needed changing
