Compression Ratio?

I want to set correct timing on my S3 engine. According to book there are different settings dependant on compression ratio.
How do I find out which compression ratio my 2.25 petrol engine is.

it's my understanding that the 3 brg engine had a ratio of 8:1 and the 5 brg was 7:1, hope this helps.

Do a static set-up first to get it running, and then fine tune it at the dizzy, either by ear or by using a strobe.

Glencoyne 4x4 at Thetford have a table on their website which tells you what engine you have based on the engine number. I would check there.
