So, I've always envied those people in land rover clubs who have picked up a rotten vehicle, down on it's luck and repaired it and breathed new life into it.

I did it with the freelander and now have a turbo'ed freelander but I've been made aware of it's limitations, it's not big enough, it can't tow enough and it hasn't got a V8....

Looking through my local LR FB page, I have spotted a rather nice looking Cobar blue 4.6 with all the toys and working air suspension. It still has 9 months MOT and 100k miles on the clock.

It's got an issue with the cooling. typical over pressure and overheating. Not something that phases me to be honest but looking for a few pointers for what to look at before I strip the engine and check the heads and block:

Sniff test,
Compression test,
Rad flush,
Check thermostat and expansion cap,
what else?
