Freelander 1 Co incidence or Not 2003 TD4 AUTOMATIC

On Friday 13th Jan 2023 I broke down in our local Tesco Car park and was transporter home on the back of a Green Flag vehicle. Later that day I wrote a Thread asking for help and the advice on Landyzone I receieved seemed to have curued the problem UNTIL Today. This morning Thursday 2nd February 2023 I broke down AGAIN in Tesco car park and was about to contact Green Flag who informed me that this time I would have to pay for the Transportation back home when one of the oppostion companies drove into the Tesco car park to carry out a repair on a members car. I asked if he could advise me and he turned up five minutes later and with the appropriate device told me there was no fuel coming through and after banging on the Pump situated infront of the offside rear wheel the car started.
Now all you brilliant Landyzone members, what do I do now?. Obviously a new pump and filter but is there anything else that will need doing?

Sound advice, together with switching to the opposition company.

New fuel pump required. Only buy a pierburg one not a cheap one from China!!

I think there's a video on here or the tube, showing how to do it.

As above purchase a new or good known used Pierburg fuel pump, and a good fuel filter.

It's a standard clause in recovery subscriptions that they will expect you to pay for recovery if you call them out for the same fault again in any subscription year.

Carry a hammer or similar pump banging implement. The same implement is also good for faulty starter motors, tyre pressure checks and diffusing road rage scenarios.

After the first 2 replies it"s refreshing to have sensible replies, so yes I will get a Pierburg fitted and NO we will not stop going to TESCO but I will park in the ALDI car park across the road.

One more thing, are they easy to fit and is it something a complete novice like me could do without a ramp.

I had no trouble fitting mine, but I'm not a novice.
It helps with space to remove the rear wheel, but it's not necessary if you don't mind getting familiar with the ground.

A sensible man has a plan B. The hammer may still prove to save the day. Never underestimate the power of a hammer.
