Afternoon, I'm currently having a few problems with my s3 and am in need of some help/advice. I've been having a fair bit of trouble lately with the gears crunching but in the last few days its gotten a lot worse and i'm now finding it difficult engaging 1st and 2nd and when i do they crunch like mad 3rd, 4th and reverse aren't much better either. I'm no expert so i wouldn't know if its the clutch or gearbox or what. Any helps appreiciated.

I'm still a bit stumped as my haynes manual is not too useful+neither am i. It has also started to pull away even with the clutch fully pressed down. Sorry but i'm pretty useless when it comes to this.

The only time i feel any pressure in the pedal is when its pretty much touching the floor otherwise its just loose.

i had this with my series 3 when i had it, snif snif, anyway it turned out to be the slave cylinder seals were on the way out, check ontop of the crossmember below the box for any fluid and if any is running down the housing, its dead easy to change the slave if it is that! i did have obvious fluid loss from the reservoir too!

Fitted a new slave cylinder which seems to have sorted it, although the clutch pedal still feels a little loose. Thanks to everyone for your help.

when you say loose do you mean easy to press or the wibblyt wobbly kind of loose?
you could still have air in the system, make sure you have the bleed nipple at the top as you look at the slave cos it will fit either way round and if its at the bottom it makes life difficult getting all the air out!

The clutch goes down a good 2 inches without pressure. Yea its put in the right way i'll try rebleeding it.
