Hi guys, been a while since i've been here but hoping you can help........
defrosted FL this morning and when i went to go the clutch pedal stuck on the floor so i flipped it up with my foot. when i put it down again it seemed really stiff, not depressing much at all. i've tried it throughout the day and it just feels really hard.
can now put into gear pressing the pedal really hard. when in gear the bugger doesn't move so it would seem that its not really in gear.

it had a master clutch slave thing fitted in the summer so it can't be that (surely!!)
help!!!!!! whats up guys?:(
forgot to say its a 1999 Deisel L series

check the bracket on the Master / slave cylinder assembly ( on the gearbox ) and the plastic retaining clip, plus put a little WD 40 on the clutch release arm.
also if the weather is cold your clutch may be a little bit stiffer, but should still work through full travel.

HI, thanks for your advice however... the things you mentioned are all okay. i was hoping it might be a simple thing but it may not be looking that way after all.
a strange thing ....while unable to compress the clutch pedal without pushing it really hard, the gears are going into place!!? surely this shouldnt be possible if the clutch pedal isn't down should it? i'm wondering if, when i flipped the pedal up i broke something or is something seized? there wasn't any strange noise or anything when i flipped it up. also, its not frosty today and its still the same so it can't be that.
aaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!! i hate those damn things!! why oh why did i ever get one knowing what they are like. oooooooooh i'm well peed off!!!
anyone an idea whats going on?
thanks in anticipation of someone figuring these damn things out.

hi all, this morning hubby was releasing clutch pedal under the engine while i drove it and its going into gear. when it moves and i lift my foot off the clutch pedal, it sticks half way up then kind of not jumps out of gear but seems to just stop being in gear if you know what i mean??!
only doing this in reverse as obviously, doing it in first gear would mean running him over as he is lying on the ground.
does that confirm anything at all?
cheers

yes! success! back to normal and changing gear, driving fine.
put in reverse when the pedal was still sticking and it jumped back really qiuck with a clunk. don't know if this is good or bad but it seems to have sorted it. (for the mean time!)

it would seem that something had seized and spraying with wd40 and working the pedal seems to have released it. will take it to a mechanic (the one who put the master slave on) after holidays anyway to get him to have a look. on saying this, who is to say that it will behave later on this afternoon when i get in it!!!!
you gotta love em
