Hi all my clutch is slipping only every now and then on my freelander. It's a 1999 2.0l turbo diesel. If I do need a new clutch any ideas on how much it will cost and best place to bye the thing?
Also some one told me I need to change something else while doing it ( think he said fly wheel) may be way off with part. Is this true

Hi

It may well be that the clutch needs replacing, and the other part that you have been told about is the dual mass flywheel, which is normally recommended to change because of the work involved to change the clutch anyway.

You may also want to replace the master and slave cylinders too, these are relatively cheap in comparison to the clutch/flywheel assembly.

You can buy the whole kit online, fleabay is one place to look. But they aren't cheap, around 600 for the parts alone, fitting may bump this up a fair bit. Good luck in your search.

woudnt change the master tbh. since that can be replaced at any time in about 5 minutes.

Definately agree with changing the clutch plate, clutch cover and slave at the same time. Changing the DMF would depend on its condition on inspection imho.
