Clutch virgin

Looking at doing '02 diesel Landy clutch, been quoted approx £550 so looking at doing myself - any known potholes to look out for?

I would replace the slave cylinder at the same time as its inside the gearbox!!! One think you should also check is the Dual Mass Flywheel as sometimes they get contaminated by oil.
Sorry I cant give advice on the job I had mine done in local garage, clutch and slave £470 inc vat and parts.

I was quoted £390 plus £150 if an internal slave.....sounds steep then

Slave should be about £100 ish for a slave cyl. Your quoted price doesn't sound too bad. It is a pain of a job, I think its a long difficult job. Big chunks of gearbox, ird etc to move. I would say at about £250 parts and £300 labour then for the £300 including a guarantee (if the garage supply parts) its worth getting the garage to do it. Alternatively if you have lots of time, decent tools, a good jack and axle stands then give it a go.
