Clutch slave cylinder Td5

Hi,
Just fitted new slave cylinder and now everthing working, the only bit that foxed me was the plastic retaining clip that came out with the push rod. How is one supposed to fit this back in when the clutch arm is just out of finger reach?

It can be done but its not the easiest of jobs. Patience and determination are the key. Along with a selection of various long nose and judiciously bent pliers.
