As the friction plate of my RR '81 needs to be replaced a question:
I've no equipment to take the engine out. So I thought to do it from the
inside of the car. Take out the gear cover plate , loosen both propshafts
,take out the bolts of the bell housing, support the engine ,loosen also the
mounting bolts on the chassis. After supporting also the gearbox, move it
backwards away from the engine ,and renew the clutch.
Anyone done this before ? Or is there not enough space to move the gearbox
far enough backwards? Maybe other problems pop up?
