Had trouble changing gear so I have replaced the master cylinder but still have the same problem, have tried bleading. (Its easier just to change the cylinder than complete with pipe as its very hard to get at the joint connection.) How harder job is it to replace the slave cylinder ? as I will have to drop the box on my drive. I have a Heines Manual. What am I looking at if I take it to an independant garage.

hi there, ample threads on clutch master cylinder changeouts, what year/type is your freelander. older models simple case of lifting of the air box to get to the slave cylinder.

good luck

on the td4, landrover dealers recone the slave cylinder will take 12 hours cos its a gearbox off job so make sure that youve got the bleeding correct and bleed it out from the slave cylinder so that you are basicly changing the fluid.
