Clutch biting low? That would be because of new clutch surely :D

Or do you mean there is to much freeplay at the top of the pedals travel? In which case it sounds like there was a tiny amount of air left in your system and its settled out a bit now.

Yes it's feels like a bit of air working it's way through - quite common after such a major overhaul.

I always think it is best to let the plate wear a bit so high spots are flattened and then finally bleed it through. This weekend. I need to do the bonnet release as well so if the weather is ok then out with the tools.

Dont wanna teach Grandmother to suck eggs, but when bleeding those systems, i find it always best to use the 'pump pedal repeatedly, hold it down, someone else open the bleed nipple for 1-2 seconds, then relock it off, release pedal' method. Rinse, repeat, keep it topped up in Res.

Btw it will rain this weekend, im not working.

Hi Angel ....n as before sorry to hijack this thread.
Just read a bit of your blog.......yee likes yer food don't ye them leathers must of got a bit tight by the end of your tour:D.
Dusted mine off and got it booked in next week for mot, if the weather holds off i'll get a couple of rides in around snowden ( just love the scenery in that area) else it#s ready to go for spring next year.........I don't mind getting caught in the rain but the amount of times i've ended up that wet.......that even me boots have to be emptied i don't even bother settin off in the rain any more........unless were on a jolly!

Yes that's the usual way but I did find that gently drawing it out using a syringe and pipe also worked well. The mechanic I used bled it out and I think a bit more needed to be done - it's ok but not perfect yet.

Ok so looks like rain this weekend so as I don't have a garage its out with the tarpaulin and tools!

Hopefully it's a job that only takes ten minutes.

thanks chromiumuk, i already took it to a place in anniesland as it needed towing in and there were the closest :)

and Vissie, yeh it turns out it was the slave, had it all replaced yesterday. I'd like to be able to to say yeh it drove fine back down to Stafford last night, but when I went it pick it up, for some coincidental reason, all the buttons on the centre console (windows, seat heaters, that stuff) wasn't working... they had put the back window down, god knows why, and when i pressed the button to put it back up, it just beeped twice, and none of the buttons/central locking would work.
So they told me it was likely to be 'a fuse blown' and they'd look at it at 8am this morning and have it back to me in no time at all. Well, rang them at 11 and its now gone to an eletricians?!
I'm assuming its something they've done while taking out the gearbox, just hope its done by today because my train leaves Crewe to come back to Glasgow at 6am tomorrow morning and i've gotta get the car home first!!!

Ahhh i love landys :)

Back window down......I assume they disconnected the battery to do the job, it will need to be put through the recalibration routine...maybe?.
I don't know if it would affect the other buttons though?

Yeah, they will have removed the battery tray to take the easy way out (imho atleast) of removing the gearbox mount from the top and just leaving 2 of the downward facing bolts holding it in. Then being able to just unscrew them by finger once the box is ready to be outed and supported. But easy Recalibration is easy :) Should be what is up with the taildoor window.

CDL wont operate off the plip after battery is disconnected until you resync the 2 rolling codes on the plip. So just need to press one of the buttons 8 - 16 times until the rolling codes start matching up.

Interior buttons now working? No idea!
