Clutch Problem

Hi,

Every morning I start up and the clutch pedal goes very slack and and stays on the floor dosnt come back up until I lift it by hand, If I leave the vehicle like about 5 mins and comeback the pedal is perfect and will be perfect all day until next morning. I have no leaks in the system or underneath only thing ive done recently is replace brake accumalator. Any ideads what this could be?

Change the fluid if it's old.

have a look at the slave cylinder when you depress and what happens to it. check all the seals on it are intact and not leaking. Give it a clean up if its cover in crud.

+1,peel back the outer seal on slave cyl and make sure there is no visible fluid.

Sounds like there is air getting in there somewhere. It must be!

As said it does sound as if the slave cylinder seals are responsible. First place to check.

I would add that I had the same symptoms on my MR2, a fluid change cured it.
