Hi all , I'm new to here and was wondering If someone can help me
I have a 04 td5 pursuit and had problems getting some gears so my local garage bleed the clutch slave and all was well for a few month then it happens again so we bleed it again .i got a new slave and they fitted it but was not getting any pressure on the pedal ,they said it was the master cylinder so I replaced the pipe and the master cylinder .they couldn't bleed it so I suggested back bleeding and after that I got pressure in the pedal but it wouldn't go into gear .now they think it might be the clutch or the slave rod but they have to drop the gearbox to see .im hoping that they know what they are doing any advice would be really appreciated .
Thanks Gareth

slave rod can be fitted /checked .with box in situ ,master cylinder if fitted new would have needed bleeding at its out let pipe before doing at slave,td5 has old series cast release arm so shouldnt be that,id try and make sure its fully bled first

Hi James ,when they were bleeding it there was a lot of air and we bleed it for an hour with me pumping the pedal and the mechanic was opening and closing the fitting there was a lot of air still coming out .how long does it usually take to bleed also they said there was a bit of play in the slave rod .do you need to drop the box to check it .i find it strange that it was fine before it went in but I thought I would get it fixed before the snow came

new parts can be faulty ,especially if pumped hard ,seals can easily be damaged ,is usual to bleed master first otherwise air just goes back and forth, check master isnt sucking in air and isnt blowing fluid back to reservoir while pumping,

Had to drop the gear box and found the clutch is well worn and the fly wheel isn't looking to good too

help please, i replaced the clutch and the fly wheel but it is still notchy in 1st and reverse ,the garage are going to drop the box again to check the fork . is this an expensive part or could i still drive it with it being a bit notchy

thanks for any reply as im desparete g
